Antonius operates globally on five continents from our headquarters in Maasbracht, Netherlands, where our production facility is located. Our main markets are the Oil & Gas, Chemical Process Industry, Power Generation, Pulp & Paper, and Food industries. Our team of 55 professionals possess extensive knowledge and expertise in forming carbon steels, stainless steels, and other specialized materials. Our craftsmanship is the main reason why customers and engineering firms contact Antonius at an early stage.
The company, originally named "Machinefabriek Sint Antonius," was founded by Mr. S. Houben in 1938. Since its inception, the company has been located near the harbor of Maasbracht, Netherlands, and initially focused on sheet metal and construction work. In 1947, the company received an order to manufacture a large number of water tanks, which led to a gradual specialization in manufacturing vessel heads. In 1994, the company's name was changed to Antonius Vessel Heads B.V. to better reflect its international market. In 1997, a large press for dished heads was installed, allowing for specialization in large diameter dished heads. In 2002, Antonius was acquired by a private investor, and a management buyout took place in 2018, with Richard Hamersma and Rob Derix taking over the majority of shares. With modern leadership and a focus on engineering partnerships, Antonius is well-positioned for the future.
