Manager Fleet & Maintenance DIY in Sittard
This position is part of our Boels DIY (Do-It-Yourself) division, which is under the Boels Rental Group. Boels DIY focuses on providing professional tool rental services to individual private customers through an extensive network of partner stores. We operate in 19 countries across Europe, collaborating with over 40 partners at 3,300 rental locations.
Your role as Manager Fleet & Maintenance DIY
As the Manager Fleet & Maintenance DIY, you will be responsible for managing and further developing our rental fleet across our business division. Our goal is to achieve growth in multiple product segments over the coming years. You will play a crucial role in facilitating this growth and supporting our operations. Your main objective will be to develop, implement and execute a department strategy that ensures high-quality standards, continuous improvement, optimal capital allocation, and cost management. Additionally, you will explore new (digital) opportunities to grow our business both internally and externally.
You will coordinate a team of two fleet coordinators and one project manager, overseeing their daily tasks and the department's annual strategy. You will also collaborate with various internal support departments and other fleet representatives across the Boels Group. Together with your team and the support of other departments, you will ensure that our goals are met and our operations run smoothly.
Main activities
- Develop and execute our fleet strategy and vision with your team and colleagues across the countries we operate in.
- Oversee the optimal allocation of our rental fleet to ensure availability for our operations and end-customers.
- Lead a team of fleet coordinators and a project manager, facilitating their tasks and responsibilities.
- Provide insights into costs and investments, manage and monitor our budget, and oversee the total cost of ownership.
- Develop data insights to continuously improve our processes.
- Maintain standards to facilitate the development and redevelopment of processes and procedures for optimal service delivery.
- Handle escalation management from internal customers.
- Maintain good relationships with other support departments.
Department tasks
- Product Management: Ensure all relevant product information is accessible and accurate for internal stakeholders and end-customers.
- Capital Allocation: Guide operations in machine acquisition/demand and actively manage capital de-fleeting.
- Inventory Management: Oversee and monitor the procurement of machines and stock levels.
- Business Development: Ensure our product assortment meets current and future customer demand and seek new business initiatives to improve performance.
- Price Management: Ensure correct pricing for rental equipment and sales items across the countries we operate in.
- TCO Management: Monitor and manage the total cost of ownership.
- Business Intelligence: Develop steering information and manage KPIs.
- Fleet Support and Administration: Support operations with ad-hoc requests and fleet registration.

- A salary that matches your qualities and experience based on a full-time gross monthly between € 4.335,- and € 6.193,- (depending on experience and based on a Full-time employment) + an attractive bonus scheme;

As our new Manager Fleet & Maintenance DIY; What you bring
- HBO/WO working and thinking level in business administration or similar experience.
- At least 5 years of relevant and recent experience leading a team or in a similar function, preferably in an international environment.
- Experience in fleet management and maintenance.
- Proficiency with analytical tools, visionary and execution-focused mindset.
- Experience with forecast planning and proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
- Fluent communication skills in Dutch and English; German is a plus.
- Strong stakeholder and change management skills, Interest in digitalization and the rental industry and strong leadership capabilities.
